A Steampunk ATC

Is it because it's the darkest time of the year? Is it because I seem to be working a huge number of night shifts at the moment? I don't really know, but somehow I just haven't had much time or, and this has been worrying, much inclination to get inky for the past few weeks. So I've decided it's time to pull myself together and join in with Grungy Monday 35 over at Studio L3. This weeks challenge is to make a Holtzian ATC. This means we can get to make an ATC using favourite Tim Holtz techniques and products. There is so much inspiration on Tim's blog and The Compendium of Curiosities. (Can't wait for Volume 2).
I thought about making a Valentine themed ATC, but Mr Mojo went on a wander, so I eventually went for Steampunk.

I cut a ATC from black card, and then a slightly smaller piece of manilla card which I've coloured with Weathered Wood distress stain and then stamped the background in the same colou using Tim's Steampunk stamp.  The men  (Stamped in Jet Black archival ink) are from the same set of stamps. Their faces are coloured with Antique Linen and Tattered Rose DI's using a waterbrush, and the buttonhole is in Festive Berries. The saying is from the Stuff to Say stamps, including 'discover' on the tattered banner at the bottom. The hand on Tim's Steampunk set was pointing the wrong way so I have rummaged around and found a Wendy Vecchi one  that was going in the right direction.
The ATC is finished off with some tiny staples and Ideology bits and bobs.
Now it's bed time for me.  I'm back at work tonight and really hoping the snow melts because I don't think my car is going anywhere at the moment. Cars don't seem to be able to get up the hill I live on and what is a nice 30 minute walk to work in the summer is going to take twice that on a dark cold and icy night.
