Autumnal Splatter

Here is my entry for this weeks fabulous Compendium of Curiosities Challenge (Number 22).

I've never used this technique before, and as suggested by Linda used a straw to create my splatter, as I did not have any compressed air! Not the sort of thing I have just hanging around really!!

The actual technique can be found on page 52 of the C of C's, and here is my take on it. I have to say it was both fun and frustrating in equal measure. Some splatters looked great, but then my stamping went wonky, and some splatters just didn't look good. Anyhow, I am continuing with the autumnal theme this week mostly because these are the ink colours I've got.
I've used Wendy Vecchi stamps, wild honey and rusty hinge DI's for my background and a little bit of bronze German scrap to finish my tag.
The copper ink looks nice in real life, but I can't get it to show in any photo's. This is definitely a technique which I'll be using again.

Very nice indeed!! I like the colors and the splatter coverage. And there you go using the circles stamp again! I really do need to acquire that!

Your tag is gorgeous! I too used the straw method on mine! I love how the tree looks like it is swaying in the wind.

How are you, Sue? Hope you are OK.
I love your background behind the tree and a nice tree too! So long since I visited your blog...sorry, I don't know why.
I love trees, have recently bought quite a few tree stamps.
The colours in the ribbon match so well with your design...lovely!

Susie, that's the sweetest tree stamp ever! I love how this turned out, and the straw worked beautifully for the alcohol ink splatter. The colors you used are absolutely perfect for this image-- it's a gorgeous autumn scene!-- and the sentiment is totally inspiring.

I'm glad you had fun with the technique, and your tag is fabulous!

I love all the things you create Sue and I am sorry I haven't been over to see you - but I am still alive, just. I have had the girls today so must catch up with paperwork tomorrow, and I am determined to still keep the creating and making going. Work continues to take all of my other time and will for another week or so. I will be back to commenting more regularly soon. Thankyou for staying in touch with me.
Take care.

I really like the alcohol ink colours. I don't have those particular ones but will look for them now that I see how pretty they are. The simple tree profile stands out well against the background. I love it!
